Dour Repowering

Header CTA

Are wind turbine blades buried at the end of their lifespan?

Many people think that wind turbine blades are eventually buried. Spoiler alert: that’s not the case at all!

Is a residential wind turbine cost-effective and affordable?

Installing a small wind turbine in your garden may seem attractive, but in practice it is rarely cost-effective.

Is wind energy too expensive and does it drive up electricity bills?

In reality, wind energy is more affordable for your wallet than you might think.

Are wind turbines one of the main causes of bird mortality?

There is a lot of discussion about wind turbines and their impact on birds, but did you know that it is very rare for a bird to be killed by a collision with a wind turbine?

Do wind turbines make as much noise as a vacuum cleaner?

“Do wind turbines make far too much noise?” Not really.

Are wind turbines an ecological disaster when it comes to recycling them at the end of their lifespan?

The vast majority of a wind turbine can be recycled: steel, electronic components, concrete from the foundations, and so on.

Do wind turbines emit more CO₂ than they save?

This question may arise when we look at the full life cycle of a wind turbine.

Do wind turbines cause environmental damage?

Every human activity has an impact on the environment, and wind farm projects are no exception.

Do wind turbines damage the landscape?

This is first and foremost a highly subjective issue that varies from person to person.

Do wind turbines consume more energy than they produce?

This is a misconception.

Borealis Transforms Company Parking Lots into Solar Farms in Collaboration with ENGIE

Vienna, Austria / Beringen and Kallo, Belgium – Starting this month, Borealis deploys solar canopies with a total capacity of 3.3 MWp on the parking lots of its Belgian manufacturing sites in Kallo and Beringen. Equipped with nearly 4,800 bifacial solar panels, the canopies are expected to generate 3,250 MWh of renewable energy per year, saving 550 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The solar canopies were installed by ENGIE Sun4Business, the subsidiary of energy utility ENGIE that offers solar power as a service to businesses in Belgium and the Netherlands.
