ENGIE, a locally rooted player

ENGIE supports various social and biodiversity-related initiatives, notably through the ENGIE Foundation and by supporting projects led by its employees.

This commitment has been part of ENGIE’s corporate culture for many years and takes shape through various actions and collaborations.

ENGIE’s local presence enables it to identify different societal needs through dialogue with relevant stakeholders. The ENGIE Foundation notably supports projects dedicated to the inclusion of young people through sport, culture and education.

It also supports projects related to biodiversity and raising awareness of environmental issues, as well as initiatives focusing, among other things, on the circular economy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

ENGIE also makes its expertise available to certain organisations through skills-based volunteering.

Finally, through its internal Power2Act programme, ENGIE supports employees who volunteer with associations in their free time.

The ENGIE Foundation

For several years, the ENGIE Foundation has supported projects for vulnerable groups. It also supports projects related, among other things, to biodiversity and raising awareness of environmental issues.

Power2Act

ENGIE launched the internal Power2Act programme in 2011, which supports projects led by ENGIE employees who voluntarily dedicate part of their free time to solidarity initiatives.

Since its creation, ENGIE has supported 279 employee projects.

The ENGIE Group’s environmental and climate objectives

In addition to its social commitment, environmental action is an important aspect of our corporate responsibility. The Group has set several objectives as part of its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.

In February 2020, the Group also defined 19 new objectives for 2030 to better monitor its performance in terms of corporate social responsibility. All these objectives are fully aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations for 2030.
