Hélène Robaye

A challenging job, where I have the opportunity to learn new things and meet many people from the industry.

"I am responsible for monitoring, analyzing and defending positions on all aspects of the operation of the wholesale electricity market. In doing so, I have to take into account a range of European and national regulations that are constantly changing. My daily work is varied: it ranges from analyzing (future) regulations to defending positions outside ENGIE, with system operators, regulators, political decision-makers, but also in the sectoral associations in which ENGIE is involved.
There is a very strong link between my job and the energy transition. On the one hand, the ambitions to decarbonize the electricity system are very important. These ambitions are reflected in the imminent changes in the design of the electricity market. On the other hand, ENGIE is trying to push for market developments that make the uptake of renewable energy as efficient as possible in the markets.
I appreciate the dynamism, the variety of tasks in my job, the flexibility we get to organize our work, but especially the content of my job that makes me challenged, learn new things and meet many players in the sector."

Marc Carnier - Global Carbon Officer

The demanding and very formative work environment of GEMS, is very thriving for me!

"As Global Carbon Officer within the Strategy Communication and Sustainability Department of Global Energy Management and Sales (GEMS), my responsibility is to derive accounting methodologies in line with the Green House Gas (GHG) Protocol and use them to quantify the carbon footprint of ENGIE Energy's sales. In addition, we help the various entities define a "carbon pathway" in line with the Science Based Targets (SBT) pledged by ENGIE. The fact that we help the different entities within ENGIE in their decarbonisation is a huge motivation for me.

I like the fact that you can do different jobs within the same company. I used to work within Power Asset Management - previously in the front office - but now for a while I am involved in everything related to carbon emissions. Moreover, GEMS within ENGIE represents a very formative and demanding working environment for me, which is thriving for me."
