Vienna, Austria / Beringen and Kallo, Belgium – Starting this month, Borealis deploys solar canopies with a total capacity of 3.3 MWp on the parking lots of its Belgian manufacturing sites in Kallo and Beringen. Equipped with nearly 4,800 bifacial solar panels, the canopies are expected to generate 3,250 MWh of renewable energy per year, saving 550 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The solar canopies were installed by ENGIE Sun4Business, the subsidiary of energy utility ENGIE that offers solar power as a service to businesses in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Google and ENGIE have just signed a series of new Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs) for which ENGIE will provide more than 118 MW of renewable power to Google’s digital infrastructure portfolio in Belgium.
