‘ENGIE Talent van het jaar’ 2023 uitgereikt aan atlete Kiara Maene
Sinds 2012 wordt elk jaar de ‘ENGIE Talent van het jaar’ uitgereikt aan een beloftevolle jonge paralympische atle(e)t(e) op basis van zijn of haar uitzonderlijke prestaties van het afgelopen jaar. Ook dit jaar werd van deze goede gewoonte niet afgeweken en werd Kiara Maene, de jonge sprintster, met trots uitgeroepen tot winnares.

Voormalige thermische centrale van ENGIE in Les Awirs volledig ontmanteld
De ontmantelingswerkzaamheden, die in april 2021 van start gingen na de definitieve sluiting van de centrale van Les Awirs in augustus 2020, werden eind december 2023 volgens plan voltooid. De site kan nu worden gebruikt voor nieuwe industriële activiteiten. Net als de nabijgelegen site van Terril van Hénâ, waar assen worden verwijderd, illustreert dit het vermogen en de inzet van ENGIE om zijn industriële projecten op een verantwoordelijke manier af te ronden.

BESIX Infra, ENGIE en Wind4Flanders huldigen hoogste windturbine van Limburg in in Bilzen
De hoogste windturbine in Limburg staat sinds kort te draaien op de site van BESIX Infra in Bilzen. De turbine met een indrukwekkende tiphoogte van 234 meter werd vanmiddag officieel ingehuldigd door Vlaams minister van Energie Zuhal Demir. Dat gebeurde in aanwezigheid van BESIX en zijn filiaal BESIX Infra, projectontwikkelaar ENGIE, het publiek-private partnerschap Wind4Flanders en het gemeentebestuur van Bilzen.

Morgan Asset Management’s Global Transportation Group have made an investment in 50five Group, a leading full- service provider of charging infrastructure for Electrical Vehicles (EV) in Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg and the United Kingdom.

Doel 3 is permanently shut down
On September 23, Electrabel has permanently disconnected the Doel 3 reactor from the high-voltage grid, in accordance with the Act of 31 January 2003 on the gradual phase-out of nuclear energy for industrial electricity production. This means Doel 3 is the first Belgian nuclear power plant to stop producing electricity for good. The first activities related to the post operational phase and subsequent dismantling will begin.
