Present situation of the Belgian nuclear power plants: Electrabel’s reaction

In its agreement of September 2020, the federal government reaffirms its policy to phase out nuclear power in Belgium by 2025. The agreement also leaves room to consider an extension of the 2 most recent units (Tihange 3 and Doel 4) if uncertainties regarding the country's security of supply persist at the end of 2021.

A first in Belgium: seven leading players sign cooperation agreement for the transport of hydrogen

The climate target to reduce CO2 emissions in Belgium by 80% by 2050 compared to 2005 levels is a major challenge. Hydrogen has an important role to play in the mix of solutions to achieve results. That is why Deme, ENGIE, Exmar, Fluxys, Port of Antwerp, Port of Zeebrugge and WaterstofNet are joining forces. A joint study serves as a basis to coordinate delivery of concrete projects that shape the production, transport and storage of hydrogen.

WE-EV, the first shared network of charging stations for electric vehicles

ENGIE is launching a shared network for companies, called WE-EV. It aims to have 500 charging stations in Belgium by the end of 2018. ENGIE is teaming up with BMW and Renault to speed up rollout.
