Griet Heyvaert - Chief Regulatory Authorities and Public Affairs Officer

Working at ENGIE is caring for the 'Essentials of life' and green growth

"It is enormously exciting to work for a company that puts energy transition at the heart of its business model. Together with my team, we support all ENGIE companies active in Belgium so that they can develop their commercial and industrial ambitions in an appropriate legal and regulatory framework with respect for stakeholders.  For example, we research the market models of tomorrow, look at how to enable an accelerated rollout of renewable electricity generation, support ENGIE teams that have ambitious plans to roll out EV charging points or help think about the progressive development of a hydrogen economy.  I enjoy working in a sector where change, flexibility and innovation are key. Without electricity and gas no comfort, no economic activity, no progress. We provide the 'Essentials of life'."

Maria Carolina Safanelli - Consultant

The energy market is very dynamic, and we need to act fast and smart to combine sustainable development with business growth.

"I work as Consultant in renewable energy projects, from strategy to implementation, advising corporations on how to achieve their sustainability goals aligned with the Science Based Targets. They can do that through renewable electricity sourcing and other levers for Green House Gas emissions reduction. The energy market is very dynamic, and we need to act fast and smart to combine sustainable development with business growth.

Our job is at the heart of energy transition as energy is an essential part of our lives. We work together with global large consumers of electricity and gas, which need a strategy to ensure a reliable and affordable energy supply. With the energy crisis, renewable energy went beyond its sustainability value but also raised the issue on securing energy supply. We act in the energy transition journey by, for example, defining renewable energy sourcing roadmaps, framing the business case of corporate Power Purchase Agreements, assessing risks of new renewables projects in development, overseeing renewables implementation, etc.

I like that ENGIE offer many opportunities – an international environment, different countries and areas in the company. ENGIE has been part of my professional journey since I was a student, when I did my first “on-site” internship in the countryside of France. Afterwards, I moved to Brasil, where I worked 2 years at Corporate Procurement Strategy. Now, I am based in Belgium, working as a Consultant at ENGIE Impact with clients worldwide. ENGIE pays attention to its employees and their ambitions, I appreciate the Group’s culture of valuing and caring for people."
